No breakfast for Ellie as she was having her dental procedure. She was not impressed by the lack of food but she was having anaesthetic to have her teeth deep cleaned so no food. She went in with the nurse, no problem. As Ellie couldn’t eat, we waited for our breakfast and so went to the Waterside Cafe to have it. It is a lovely place by the lakes.

We wanted to keep busy and so then went on to Wingham Wildlife. They put out an appeal for blankets for the Orangutans and chimps and I have been collecting a few. If there any in the Cancer Research shop, I buy them. So, we took those along.  Of course we went to see the orangs and the chimps, in particular Lucas.

The vet called twice while we were out. Once to say she was fine and settled and then after the tooth procedure to say that she will need 5 extractions at a future date. That was a bit of a shock but then having been a street dog, who knows what she was eating to keep her teeth in good health or not!

We really didn’t want to go home with no Ellie so we went into Deal, a look around the shops and then we went into the opticians as we both wanted new glasses. I can’t believe I found ones I liked within 5 minutes as I hate glasses having worn them since I was 18 months old (with a gap in between). So mine are ordered and Mal discovered he only had a couple of months until a test so he said he would pay for a new test as he found some nice ones as well.

We had lunch out in Deal and then the vet called to say we could pick Ellie up.  She was so pleased to see us but felt very sorry for herself when she arrived home, obviously her mouth hurting . We followed the instructions on her discharge letter(medicines and doses)………………………..

She certainly had a lot of that as she cuddled up next to me on the sofa and didn’t move until we went to bed and then she lay on the floor beside me.
