Month: November 2020

Today we should have gone on holiday to a lodge in a country park. Of course this has been cancelled and the company has already refunded our money.

We went to Kearsney Abbey for a walk with Ellie. The colours were magical.

We were pretending we were on holiday and went for a coffee but the coffee shop was shut so we went home! We will just make the most of what is around us.  Paul O’Grady has a TV programme on Wednesday evening, showing why he loves Kent so much.

Thought for the Day – “The older you get, the more quiet you become. Life humbles you so deeply as you age. You realise how much nonsense you have wasted time on!”

We are so lucky with the weather so far in lock down. Another sunny day and we went for a walk along the river and through the town. It was nice seeing all the poppies.

We watched the Spurs game in the afternoon. They won and for a few minutes were at the top of the Premier league.

Thought for the Day – “Cherish every moment and every person in your life, because you never know when it will be the last time you see someone. Life is fragile. Take nothing and no one for granted.”

Wow, another beautiful day so we drove into Deal for a walk along the sea front. We noticed there were no queues by the supermarket, so I went in (it was early) and out very quickly. We then walked from Deal to Walmer along the coast (our exercise!) The sun was out and everyone had smiles on their faces. Another walk that Ellie loves as there are always lots of dogs.

WARNING – if you are ordering anything for your pets don’t use Animed Direct. I ordered some items for Ellie on 30th October. The money was taken from my account on 31st October. Today, a week later I received an email saying they couldn’t fulfil the order. I emailed a complaint saying that my understanding is the money should not be taken until despatch. No apologies, only that they will refund the money. These companies just don’t care. Now I have to find an alternative company before we run out!

We walked Ellie once again in the sun.

I noticed that cats have been digging my garden up and poo-ing in there, so I will have to put more spikey sheets on there. That’s the only thing that works.

In the afternoon we went to the allotment.  The rats have eaten all the broad beans at Mal’s allotment  but mine are still going strong, so at least we will have some!

Thought for the Day – “Two things define you. Your patience when you have nothing and your attitude when you have everything.”

Another beautiful day so we made the most of it and took Ellie to Minnis Bay.

On the way back we stopped at the butchers, it’s lovely when all our meat is cut fresh.

Mal went to the allotment and I tidied up in the garden.

Thought for the Day – “Wake up with determination. Go to bed with satisfaction.”

The first time this autumn that the heat has come on in our house and it was a bit chilly as I went to put some flowers in the cemetery. By the time we walked Ellie, the sun was out.

It was a glorious day as we walked along the sea front in Broadstairs.

Ollie and Oscar are still on half term, which was really good as today was Ollie’s 14th birthday so we met up with them in Broadstairs and we all went for lunch. It was lovely to have lunch together. Our last chance before lock down.

I had to buy some birthday cards so made the mistake of going to Westwood. I have come to the conclusion that people are crazy. Queuing, pushing shoving, not keeping their distance……..I came home!

Mal collected some vegetables from the allotment. We have some really nice kale, not at all bitter.
