Month: November 2020

We walked Ellie in the morning and then I had a hygienist appointment at my dentist in the afternoon. I told her I didn’t know why I was there as I am still waiting to hear from Maxillo facial at Canterbury Hospital. She looked at my notes and realised I should speak to Penny and called her in. Penny was as confused as the rest of us as she hadn’t heard from them. She is going to contact them again. Meanwhile I have an appointment booked with Penny in December. Hopefully she will know by then and then she told me she would do her best as she is retiring at the end of the year….OH NO!!

Meanwhile the hygienist carried on with treatment. Her price has gone up, not unexpected.

We walked from Deal to Dover with Ellie. To say we were in lock down there were so many cyclists, joggers and dog walkers. I guess a lot would be shopping under normal circumstances.

We were surprised how mild it was and it didn’t rain!

Hammers in the afternoon and they won so Mal was happy.

Plenty of mushrooms around on our walk, I guess all the damp weather. I called into the Co-op for the paper, the only day I buy one.

The weather has been bad in north Cyprus, a tornado knocking the electricity out and David’s next door neighbour lost part of their roof. A lot of other damage by all accounts.

Plenty to do at the allotment in the afternoon.

Back home and watching the tennis Djokovic and Thiem. This was followed by the Spurs game…..yeah we beat Man City!

That was a shock, the first frost of the year!

We went to Wingham for a walk in the woods and the orchards.

On the way home we called into the farm shop for a sack of potatoes and onion sets to plant in the allotment. They were having a lot of Christmas trees delivered. They have all come from Holland! Don’t we grow any here anymore? I bought some lovely deep red roses and later took them to the cemetery for Torin.

Ollie has come home from school with a letter saying he has to isolate for 6 days, I’m guessing along with the rest of his year group. We have been unable to see Rhys, Lou and the kiddlies in case they pass anything on as the kids are all at school (except Ollie now!). The Secondary schools in Sandwich have closed down too.

Thought for the Day – “Do it now. Sometimes later becomes never.”

We walked along the river with Ellie and saw our next door neighbour Chloe. They had been self isolating as Micky’s apprentice had Covid!

Mal went to the allotment and I trimmed back more of the garden and planted some more tulips. Crazy weather as some bulbs already there have shoots!

We watched Paul O’Grady’s programme on Kent in the evening. Tonight was about Romney Marsh and Dungeness. We know it well and as he said Dungeness is a place like no other. He even called into the fish place we eat at when we are there.

There is a nice little robin comes to our garden, he was there this morning.

Lovely weather again so we took Ellie to Minnis Bay.

We stopped off at the butchers on the way home, a good thing he is open during lock down.

The evening sky was so nice.

Like many others we are watching “I’m a celebrity.”
