I was up early and walked Ellie on my own, such a lovely morning and so peaceful with the early morning mist.

Today is Sol’s girlfriends birthday and I posted her card and present but it seems the post is in chaos and she hasn’t received it yet. Perhaps I should get some posted for the next couple of months.

I also bought Mal an art course at Broadstairs for part of his birthday present and they phoned today and said that has now been cancelled, it was booked for June.

Late morning we went to the allotment. I ended up with a blister on my right hand doing the weeding. Ellie hides in the shade. We had our first lot of radishes.

Our walk was along the river and then to Gazen Salts. There are still a lot of ducklings around.

My bay trees are both flowering, that is a first.

Mal went to his allotment and I cleaned the patio at home.

We went to do our weekly shop. A very quick in and out. No queues at Aldi Ramsgate and that really nice man wiping all the trolleys down and giving you hand sanitizer, so it is now my favoured supermarket! The rest of the staff are lovely in there too. I have bought a supply of their Thai curry kit . They are very good as they even have the coconut milk included. I find if I am making one from scratch, I never use all the milk up or the lemon grass.

Down to the allotment in the afternoon. Mal worked on his and I watered mine.

Later Flo, our three year old next door neighbour left two home made flowers on the step for Ellie!

Shhhhhhh! Our exercise today was a little further than usual but I was desperate to see the sea and as we justified it, it was good for our mental health! It was probably much safer than our usual walks with so few people around.

But we had to remind Ellie to keep her distance!

After lunch we went to the allotment. I planted some sweet peas out. A shame because Lou wanted to do that but if we ever get out of lock down then she can put some more in. I put more courgettes in too. Mal went to his allotment to do some weeding and dig the remains of the sprouting broccoli up.

We walked by the river and then next to the nature reserve. The moor hen had a very fancy nest.

Mal went to the Co op to buy more sugar while I chopped up 4kg of rhubarb to make wine.

We spent the rest of the afternoon sitting in the garden.

Mal went to the allotment weeding and I stayed at home cleaning. We all have such exciting lives at the moment!

I think Rhys is keeping himself amused at home. He sent pictures of a lovely Turkish meal that he and Ollie cooked yesterday and promises to cook it for us in the future. Then when he was out running this morning, he sent me photos of statues and I had to guess who they were and what their claim to fame was……eg Barnes Wallace.

Mal and I walked with Ellie down by the river. We meet a lot of “new” people who aren’t usually out walking!

I am sure people will get tired of my duckling pictures but I love watching them.

Mal went to the allotment and I decided to empty the conservatory and give it a thorough clean.
