I met up with the Red Hatters in Birchington and we boarded the coach to St Albans. Each time we go on one of these trips we all think “never again”. It took THREE hours to get there. There were pick ups on the way and also a stop at Medway services! I had arranged to meet Paula there as well and in true honorary Red Hatter form she came dressed in the colours and the hat! In fact she said to look out for a walking letter box as she was walking from her bus!

Yes, she was right!
So we walked around St Albans and then all went for lunch in Waterside Barn.

It was unbelievable how many people spoke to us and asked how they could join! Paula is now thinking of starting her own Hatter group in Luton! We were lucky that it was such a nice warm, sunny day too.
We even managed a couple of charity shops. It is difficult to find purple clothes in he main stores. Paula found a lovely Warehouse coat in purple and Annie found some purple shoes on the market.
Then we had the three and a half hour drive home, more traffic going back! It was a lovely day.
Thought for the Day – “A good friend is a connection to life — a tie to the past, a road to the future, the key to sanity in a totally insane world.” ~ Lois Wyse
