The good news is after all the talk of it being closed for months, the toll bridge in Sandwich has now opened. We will see how long it continues in use this time. After walking Ellie we went to check it out and yes, it is open.
We took the old fridge to the tip. It was rather unfortunate that the glass shelves Mal had in his hand, one just shattered. No problem , he told one of the workmen and he came and swept it all up.
We then went to Westgate to Selectspecs as Mal ordered me some new reading glasses online and they weren’t right when they arrived. It was Mal’s error misreading the prescription but they said no problem they would send them back and post the correct ones. Good service!
We then called in to the butchers in Birchington ( R C Wale) as their meat is very good. An added bonus is that they have a loyalty scheme. One stamp for every £15 you spend and when you have 8 stamps, you receive £10 off.
Back home and I potted my acer, it’s lovely.
After dinner in the evening Mal and I sat out in the garden and played cards. We used to do that a lot in Cyprus.
