I was up at 5.30 and so went for a long walk with Ellie on my own. It is so pretty that time of the morning, by the river with the sun rising.
After breakfast Marion and I went into Deal. I use a Lavender pillow spray and M&S sell it. The previous day Canterbury didn’t have any and the assistant told us you can’t order it online but she looked it up and Deal had some. I bought their stock of it up (3 bottles), maybe they are discontinuing it. Also that was the last day of M&S Deal, they are closing down tomorrow! Soon there will be no shops left in the High Street.
We then went for a walk along the sea front and along the pier.
Back home and we collected Mal and drove to Eastry, The Five Bells, for lunch. Reg who fitted our carpets recommended it as his sister has just taken it over. Excellent lunch and we have joined their lunch club!
In the evening Marion and I had tickets for “Burn the Floor” at Margate Winter Gardens. Considering the lack of publicity we were both totally amazed at what a fantastic show it was. It was so energetic we felt quite worn out by the interval. Goodness only knows how they kept it up for two hours. Of course a standing ovation at the end. We weren’t allowed to take photos during the show!
