Mal and I took Ellie out and then back home and Lou, Ollie, Oscar and Josie came round so that we could all spend the day at’ Le Weekend’.  No rain today! We listened to music, went all round the stalls and the re enactment, had hot dogs and then ended up in The Crispin for drinks.

Mal and I walked Ellie and they were setting up the stalls all around Sandwich for Le Weekend.

Sadly it rained a lot and we had to take refuge in a pub! When it stopped we walked around the stalls and then discovered that the main stage was packing up as they were soaked. Hopefully a better day weatherwise for Sunday.

We walked to the Quay where there were a lot of tents/music/re enactments and beer!  We spent the next four hours sitting in there and chatting to everyone. I was drinking mead wine. I think the three of us had a considerable amount to drink. At one stage Paula lent back and fell off completely. Six men dashed to pick her up….. a little too much to drink I guess!

When it was time to go home we decided to buy fish and chips by the Quay. Then Paula was misbehaving at the level crossing!

Mal and I walked Ellie and then Paula and I went into Margate as she wanted to go to the Turner Centre. I did warn her that I have yet to go to a good exhibition there. Today was no different.  It was an exhibition of seaside photos.  Only one was from Margate! Several people we chatted to said they “didn’t get it” either, photos of old cookers and all sorts of rubbish. But Paula did enjoy the mirrors at the beginning!

When we had enough, we went to the Cupcake Cafe for tea and then a wander around Margate.

Paula wanted to go shopping and remembered a shoe shop she had been too previously in Ramsgate. So we went off to Ramsgate. She bought 3 pairs of shoes and then wanted a handbag and so from there I drove to Westwood. Oh my goodness does she take a long time to decide!!

This “trying” the bags in TKMaxx lasted over an hour!

I looked for a new leather one too but there were no light colours. At least Paula decided on one and also a leather purse. I was getting hungry and thirsty then and so we went and had lunch in the Hooden Horse. Back to a few more shops, where she bought more things. By the time we arrived home, having been out for 8 hours, I was exhausted!!

So nice that the rain has stopped but we shouldn’t complain as it is good for the garden and saves me watering.

At lunchtime I went to the station as my friend Paula has come to visit.  We had a lot of catching up to do!

It wasn’t going to rain in the morning…it did while we were out with Ellie. I think I give up on weather forecasts!

I met Rhys for lunch which was nice as he seems so busy every weekend. We ate at the carvery and then went to Sainsbury’s for some shopping and in their cafe for coffee. Rhys also had some carrot cake. I think he needed the calories as he had been to the gym and also ran 11 miles before he met me.

We bought a sea bass for Mal’s dinner as he missed out on the carvery! It was just being cooked in the evening when somehow I dropped and smashed an entire bottle of balsamic vinegar all over the kitchen floor. Yuk.

My day at Demelza. It seems a long time since I was there with all the bank holidays and Blackpool! We were so  busy, mainly sorting donations. They seemed to keep coming and Fran and I didn’t stop all afternoon. Jack was off at a meeting.

I was quite tired by the time I arrived  home. I’m not used to being on my feet all day!
