We walked Ellie and met a goldie and his owner who are staying at the caravan park. It was a very unusual 18 month, who doesn’t eat! Mal and I laughed and said we have never known of that! I offered him a treat and he ate it and barked for more.

Father’s Day and so we met Lou, Rhys and the family at The Dog and Duck for Sunday lunch.

We had a lovely day, then back to Lou and Rhys’s. Later in the evening Tris came for his Father’s Day visit and we sat out in the garden having a few drinks.

Paula packed all her things together, ready to head for home which she wasn’t too happy about!

Lou and Josie were going to an afternoon show and so Oscar and Ollie came over to us for the day. Such a nice day again so we went to the park with Ellie .

 

Next Grandad took the boys to the allotment where they helped him lay more bark on the paths. They are both good little workers. I drove Paula to catch her train.

Lunch outside in the sun. Ollie really loves his camembert.

Later more football and then dinner, followed by strawberries, ice cream and chocolate profiteroles

After our walk with Ellie, the three of us went to Deal. I bought some sandals and Paula bought some clothes and Mal came with us for a while and then waited in the garden in “Spoons” drinking bottomless coffee!

We enjoyed the sun in our garden in the afternoon.

We had been looking for somewhere to have a nice meal, preferably fish, before Paula goes home. I searched all the local ones and eventually came up with Restaurant 66 in Ramsgate. They had monkfish and tuna on the menu, so it seemed like a good choice. We had a drink outside first overlooking the harbour.

Ramsgate was very busy because of the good weather but surprisingly we were the only ones in the restaurant. We were stunned at how good the food was. I had monkfish and prawns wrapped in parma ham, Paula the tuna and Mal the rack of lamb. Lots of vegetables too. We had desserts too and Mal’s cheese board was huge!

So many restaurants in Ramsgate come and go as there is so much competition.

A lovely meal but still amazed we were the only ones in the restaurant.

Mal and I took Ellie out and then Paula and I went to Birchington to have a look around the shops there. I managed to find some Wasgij jigsaws in one of the charity shops. Lou loves doing them, so I bought her two.

After lunch Paula and I walked into the town to find her a cardboard box as she has bought so much “stuff”, she can’t carry it all home on the train and so is going to post it!

Rain again during our walk with Ellie. Such a change from the sun the previous day.

Lunchtime we went to the Red Hatters lunch at Lesters. Paula came as an honorary member. We had a nice lunch and organised some more days out. Today we had another new lady. Our group is growing! Queenie emphasised that some of the ladies were not wearing red hats, just fascinators and were missing the whole point!!

Paula and I went to the garden centre in the morning as I needed some more compost. Most things there are much more expensive than Westwood.

In the afternoon we went to Minnis Bay as the sun was out and it was lovely and warm. Ellie came too and then we sat at The Minnis and had a drink when we ended our walk.

Paula came with me into Canterbury and went around the Cathedral while I was working at Demelza. She spent a lot of the morning there and was really cold! I met her lunchtime in Spoons. She then went home as she was cold.

In the afternoon Fran and I tidied all the wedding dresses, that was really hard work as they are so heavy and we had to put them back in sizes.

We have one dress we are selling that still has the label on, never been worn and it was £11,000!! Crazy.

I caught the bus home and when I got off in Wingham, I stood in the bus shelter for 20 minutes as the rain was torrential and the high street had turned into a river, it was just flooding! I was drenched when I decided to make a run for the car. Well, they did warn us about flash floods. The roads were dreadful.

Mal had dinner ready for us when I arrived home.
