Another frosty morning but the sun was out so we went for a very long walk. I just love taking photos of the Grange. They hold weddings on the island in the grounds. It always looks so pretty in the sun.

At the moment there is a Turner exhibition – Adventures in Colour, at Turner Contemporary in Margate. It is ending on Sunday and so we really felt we should go and see it. But lunch first and so we went to the Lantern which is on the harbour arm, in fact sort of next door to the Turner. It’s a little confusing as they have tables outside but if you want to eat indoors than you can go in the Harbour Arms, next door but one and eat in there. It’s all very friendly  along the “arm”. All the meals in the Lantern were £5!! We both had the chilli con carne as he had just made it. It was hot and delicious. The Harbour Arms is a real ale micro pub so Mal had a pint.

Next into the Turner. There were a lot of “arty types” in there seriously studying every brush stroke of his paintings. Mal and I aren’t like that, we just like what we like and thought 90% weren’t good but the 10% were quite amazing, mostly ones he painted in Italy.  BUT he did love Margate and painting Margate sea scapes. Of course I couldn’t take photos of the paintings.

Margate was looking nice today.

Later we went to ‘Cupcake’ for tea and Mal had carrot cake. A nice day out in Margate.

Mal wasn’t asleep, he was studying the HUGE piece of carrot cake.

Thought for the Day – “It is not happy people who are thankful. It is thankful people who are happy.”
