Wow, what a storm in the early hours! I awoke thinking it was fireworks at Preston Court as they had a wedding on yesterday. No it wasn’t, it was lightning. Storms don’t usually bother Ellie but even she came and lay next to my side of the bed! Of course Mal slept through it!
Out for our walk and Ellie was naughty, so many tempting baby rabbits to play with and she bolted from the lane through a small hole in the orchard fence. She does come back but her biggest fault is when she sees rabbits or squirrels and I haven’t noticed immediately so she takes a chance when she knows I’m not watching. She ran so much she came back really panting.
Mal and I then went into Margate to see the Margate Meltdown. Yes, Rockers and a very few Mods. I said to Mal I had never seen so many in one place at one time and he said “what old people?” I had meant motorbikes. Margate had been taken over. They were along the entire sea front three deep and then along all the streets in the town. Of course a lot had driven down from the Ace Cafe and I think they brought their own band with them.
Mal went to the allotment late afternoon and brought back the first strawberry, salad and loads more broad beans. They are so tasty.
