For a change we all had a bit of a lie in and after breakfast we took the three dogs to Rowney Warren.

We had a very long walk and up some very big hills. The dogs were almost worn out when we were back home!
Mal and I walked to Asda for a couple of things we had forgotten. I don’t understand why people go so crazy when the shop are only shut for one day!

In the evening Torin cooked for us again, a delicious Chinese meal this time.

Mal and I were up at 4am and loaded the car up, not the easiest thing to do when we had to walk up the drive in the pitch dark. The light on the outside of the house doesn’t quite reach the car. “They” forecast chaos on the roads today and so we left the house at 4.30am to drive to Torins. We made pretty good time and of course because it was before 6am, we didn’t have to pay at Dartford!

Later we took the three dogs for a walk. Torin is still suffering with a bad back, not much fun in between pain killers. Ellie loves being with Millie.

Torin didn’t get much sleep the previous night as his back was so painful so he had a lie down and Mal and I walked to Asda where we collected an order for Josie’s birthday.

Torin cooked us a delicious Malaysian meal for dinner. He’s a good cook and is always experimenting. Later his friend Tracey came round.

Mal took Ellie for her walk and I went to Westwood, a few last minute things but mainly to get my car washed and cleaned. I really couldn’t be bothered to do it myself as there was a lot of sand and mud in it. We then started sorting things to take to Torin’s.

In the evening Sol came to see us again, this time bringing his  and River’s presents for us! It’s always nice to see him.

We did intend going to bed early but it wasn’t quite as early as we planned!

A bit of a drizzly morning so we went for a walk through the orchards and woods.

Today is the shortest day so we will be heading toward Spring now!

More presents to wrap and then Sol and River came round for a visit in the afternoon.

More presents wrapped and so we headed off for deliveries to both of Mal’s sisters in Broadstairs. We took Ellie so that we could walk her at Botany Bay. Ellie charged around the beach and then started burying her ball. We had a long walk but as we came back along the beach the wind was in our faces and it was bitter.

We saw Marion first and then Deb at her charity shop. We stopped at Tesco on the way back and I was pleased to see these…..

I’m really not used to regulation shape fruit and vegetables, I much prefer the taste! These were less than half the price of the regulation size Kanzi apples….crazy!

In the evening we went to Kent Uni to listen to the Albion Christmas Band, it’s sort of a tradition now for our pre Christmas “get in the mood” singalong! And it did get us feeling Christmasy.

As usual it was a sell out.

I was back in Demelza charity shop for the day but left early as Lou, Ollie, Oscar, Josie,Mal and I went to the panto. The shop will be closed for the next two Mondays as they are both bank holidays and so my next volunteering will be 9th January. But today we had a good day all wearing our Christmas jumpers.

Mal had cooked dinner by the time I arrived home and then we went straight to the Theatre Royal in Margate to see this years panto, Peter Pan. This theatre is so nice and cosy that the kids really enjoy being so close to the actors and of course as usual we all got saoked when the water pistols came out and we did lots of joining in with “he’s behind you” etc. They are such a good group that produce the panto each year and Lou, Mal and I love it too. It’s so good to see the kids faces and all the excitement.

A busy morning cooking, ready for Lou, Rhys, Ollie, Oscar and Josie coming round for a pre Christmas lunch. Mal had dug loads of parsnips. I always do a lot of food in case the older boys come too. As it happened they were all working but we plated some up for them to take home for Tariq and Sol!

We had a lovely time with lots of Christmas music.
