Early morning beach again….

We did a lot of cleaning in the morning, including the car  and then decided to go out for Sunday lunch. We went to Acmenya.  I still can’t believe you have a starter, roast main course, go and choose your own desserts (Mal had FOUR!!). Then to help yourself to as much coffee and brandy as you want and all for 20tl (£5.50). As usual it was pretty busy in there. They also make a VERY good brandy sour.

Back home to watch Spurs, now top!  Then a pretty dire Man U game. Need to do better!

It is just so nice to be down at the beach before anyone else. The beach to ourselves as the sun rises. Not so long ago it was 5am. Now it has moved to 6am. Ellie is getting far better going in the sea.

Ellie loves it, including getting covered in sand and digging holes.

Sand everywhere when we were home even though I showered Ellie. We then went to the Pest Control shop to see if they had any better solutions to get rid of the wasps that are still in our meter box. Even the lady in there said that the “fly trap” that the beledeysi had put up, was no good for wasps. I think we knew that. So now we have a wasp trap, to put meat in.

We had to buy shopping and so for a change went to Tempo. They  had some interesting things in the deli department.  I just hate coming out of that turning because you can’t see the traffic on the main road properly. Instead of trying to turn right, I turned left and then doubled back. Someone must have been looking after me today as when we drove back past that turning, a motor bike and two cars had been involved in an accident.  Could have been me!

A long walk in the mountains and then we had a power cut. Not a good day to have one as David and Kenny invited us over for lunch and they have an electric oven!!! It went on and on. However they did really well with a 3 course lunch and very good it was too.  Of course Ellie was invited as well. She plays a lot with Loppi but Jekka just leaves them to it.

No sunrise photos this morning, we were walking in the clouds! The cloud did pass later in the day but still very humid. Ramsgate, for the first time, are having  a 3 day Traditional Seaside Festival this coming weekend and it is FREE! Thanet really are trying very hard to bring the crowds back. It is good to see.

In the evening we had dinner at Carpenters. That made a a nice change as we hadn’t eaten there for a long while. Mal had a huge T Bone steak. I had very tasty Persian Lamb. They serve very good food with a good choice, only drawback  no price list for drinks. Efes 8tl!

A short walk in the mountains as I had a bit of an upset stomach. I don’t know why as I have eaten the same as Mal. We are also so careful this time of year to ensure all food is refrigerated and that the fridge is kept cold enough. Any food left out is always covered. We use cool bags as well to bring shopping home  from the supermarket. Just one of those things I guess.

In the afternoon a lot of black clouds came over us but only a spot or two of rain.
