The big news? A British Airways plane has landed at Ercan airport! It was bringing Deep Purple to the island. I can’t begin to believe what is going to be said about that!!

Ellie and I were up and out to see a beautiful sunrise over the sea again.

Fresh bread for breakfast from Atakara on the way home and the Cyprus Today.

After breakfast I left Ellie in the cool of the house,it’s getting a little hot to leave her in the car but she is fine being left anyway. I went to get the shopping. Lovely juicy tomatoes for 1.50tl a kilo, the same for cucumbers, a huge bunch of rocket for 1tl. I won’t go on, everyone knows, much tastier and cheaper than the UK.

Of course I skype  Mal quite frequently during the day to break the boredom of him working!

Ellie and I were out walking by 5.30. We went for a long walk in the mountains. A beautiful Cyprus Sunrise. Not a brilliant photo as I took it on auto instead of setting the camera as I was too busy watching out for snakes! My old camera was much easier.

 

Coming back down the mountains, look what we found. I don’t know where they came from but at least they didn’t follow the car.

There are also 4 new puppies roaming around the village, plus the shepherds dog has 4 puppies. I wonder if they are all getting micro chipped by the end of June?

Very, very sad to just learn of the death of Hans Doeleman. He will be greatly missed on the island and condolences to Trix and his family. That came as a bit of a shock. He brought the History of Cyprus alive. RIP Hans.

I took Ellie to Pertev to have her second rabies jab. She didn’t even flinch. She may be wishing I hadn’t rescued her the amount of needles that have been stuck in her since I have had her. It’s all for her own good and she actually doesn’t seem that bothered.

Ellie and I were up and out at 5.30, have to get back into the routine and the time change and before the sun gets too hot for our walk. Then David came over to correct the electrics.

I cleaned the pool when I returned home as it looks quite green. I have discovered there is a problem with the pool pump now!! Mal was then on Skype to me and the internet went. I phoned and phoned Multimax but no one would answer! It came back on at 3 in the afternoon. I started to think it was just everything with me that was going wrong! I was just too tired, think about it all another day. I did a lot of dead heading in the garden. I didn’t have to use my brain for that!

An early night, I didn’t even manage to read my book. I really hate a whole day travelling. One day we will have direct flights (ha ha ha!)

Up early and I headed off to Stansted to catch my Pegasus flight which was late leaving! I sat next to a really nice couple who were coming to North Cyprus for a holiday, so chatting to them the journey went really quickly.

I was met at the airport by David and Ellie. She was pleased to see me. David had put the house lights on ready for my return and as we drove up the road, the house was in darkness. In our absence David had organised a new household water pump to be fitted and it was shorting out the electrics, so we turned the water pump off until the morning!

We woke up to rain. The weather forecast told us it would be this afternoon!

Mal had tried to book a hotel stay at the Salutation for Sunday night, my birthday. We had seen it on “Four in a Bed”. Rhys had also seen it on Gogglebox and obviously took notice because it is in Sandwich. Mal emailed them to book a room and didn’t get a reply, presuming it was full. I received a text from Torin this morning saying he knew why we didn’t receive a reply…….Salutation!! We did laugh, just as well they didn’t accept the booking. I am guessing all these stunts and TV appearances are because they have the Salutation up for sale!

Thanet excels again in Blue Flag Beaches for 2014. Botany Bay, Ramsgate Main sands, Minnis Bay etc

I have just received an  email to say there is no dog walking at KAR centre as they have found poison in the hills there.

Mal worked and I went to buy the final bits to take back to north Cyprus with me. I am going back for Ellie and Mal is staying working.

Rain later.

In the evening we went round to see Lou, Rhys and the kids and for me to say goodbye.

I felt really sorry for Torin, He drove to Ashford Friday morning then back home to collect the twins and then back here in the evening. Yesterday  he went back home and his boss called him with reports he had to do by lunchtime today (seems to have forgotten he has to drive to Holland today!!) He spent most of last night doing that and then had to take the twins to school this morning and straight down to Folkestone to go to Holland. Guess what? He has just phoned and he has a puncture. His firm pay him well but they want blood. Crazy, they think he works 24 hours a day, 7 days a week.  BUT I really did appreciate him coming all this way for me when he is so busy!!

I tried to get rid of some of the ants in the caravan. It was Jack’s job while he was here!! I don’t like killing things but I’ll have to put some powder down as they are getting into food.

Another beautiful day. I did a bit of weeding in our small garden. It is a real sun trap there.

My birthday! Well, actually it’s my birthday weekend. Mal cooked breakfast and then as Torin had some work to do before he goes to Holland tomorrow, Mal and I took Scarlet and Jack to Minnis Bay. It was another lovely day.

We then had some lunch.

Torin had to drive back home as he was off to Holland , his firms Head Office in the morning.
Mal and I went to East Blean Woods for a long walk. Mal being silly as usual….


Reculver on the way back and had to stop for a drink in the King Ethelbert which is right by the sea and was packed!!

From there just a couple of miles down the road, we called into Lou and Rhys and sat out in the garden. Th kids were playing water bombs. Lovely on a hot day!

 

Sol missed out on the meal yesterday and we waited until he arrived home from his trekking weekend for his Duke of Edinburgh award.

Later Mal and I went to the Siam Kitchen for my final birthday celebration!!
