We were up and packed to go away for a long weekend, for our wedding anniversary. Off to Ercan for a flight to Antalya. It is such a short hop, seems as soon as they are up in the air, the plane is coming down again. We booked a transfer to our hotel but we had to wait for nearly two hours at the airport. Yes, the girl was there at the desk and asked us to wait as there were three more passengers. When we complained about the wait, a good start to our holiday, she told us their plane had been delayed. Two hours later when said passengers arrived, we asked if their plane had been delayed, No they told us it was on time!! DON’T use Resorthoppa, we don’t like being lied to. The hotel wasn’t that far away, we could have been there and back twice in the time we waited!
Eventually we arrived at our hotel – Club Hotel Sera at Lara Beach just in time for lunch. Our cases were taken to our room and we went off to the restaurant. After lunch we went to our room and unpacked. Well, Mal and I couldn’t stop laughing at the decor in the room, a little over the top even by Turkish standards! Fascinating really how each room in our block has eight sides and all those mirrors and ornate pieces, what a lot of cleaning but it was all spotless!! We also had a balcony with a sea view. Pink, gold and green……erm!
We spent the afternoon exploring and realising just how big the hotel and grounds are. This is another of Lara’s 24 hour food and drink all inclusive. We booked it quite a while ago and managed to get it for £50 a night for both of us and commented that we have actually spent more than that on a Premier Inn in Cardiff, with no food or drink!
Afternoon tea and cake and then dinner in the outside restaurant, which we followed with working our way down the cocktail menu!!
