An exciting evening for Scarlet and Jack. We had to put keys outside for Father Christmas, along with reindeer food and a carrot and of course indoors a mince pie and glass of booze for FC. Stockings out and then they were off to bed for Grandad to read “The night before Christmas”.

Needless to say not a good day. Mal and I left my sisters late afternoon and travelled to Torin’s where we are spedning Christmas. Marion is going to her daughters for the Christmas break. Not an easy time for any of us.

Our Avis car was delivered to our door…thank you Ken! He stayed for a cuppa and then we went outn for a drive by the beach and also went to get some shopping.

I had realised that my photo card from my driving license runs out in January. I tried to renew it online which if I had renewed my passport in the last 5 years would have been easy. It was 6 years ago! So, we went to the Post Office and realised you can renew it there including, them taking the photo for it. Well, it would have been easy had their computer not crashed so it did take longer than normal but at least it is done and cost £24.90.

It is simply giving people a hand up not a hand out!  Christmas is a time for giving but this donation you can get back! I donate so I know it works. It is a loan.

The weather forecast for the UK is for a “soggy” Christmas. We were going out in the morning but the rain put us off, mainly because we are getting a hire car tomorrow.  Avis, or rather Ken, the delivery man has said that he will deliver our car to the door!! What service. Because we have booked 3 cars with Avis, we now have a free weekend, so I will have to sort out that soon.

I went into Ramsgate in the afternoon as I had a hair appointment with Marcello . He was very busy but we all had a good laugh, as usual.

I did have a look around the shops there but the town has really gone downhill with a lot of shops closed now, probably because of Westwood.
