In the morning we went to David and Kenny’s for a coffee. I was telling them about “Cat” and her kittens, who I believed were all out hunting their own food now but I still put food out for them just in case, far away from the house. They believe she belongs to the Russain house opposite!! It seems her dog chases all her cats and I guess Cat must have decided to give birth in our front garden as it was safer. At least I can stop panicking now if I don’t see Cat and her 4 kittens. The sensible thing would be for her to get them neutered before we are over run with cats.

In the afternoon a very emotional start to the Liverpool v Man U football match, paying tribute to the Hillsborough victims. Man U won but not a good game!

We then packed everything up and got ready for a short (hopefully) trip to the UK.

This morning I decided to order one of the microwaves above for the caravan. The one we have in there is a little old and I thought this would match the new black kettle I now have there! We don’t use it much so ideal at that price.

I then went to Atakara for Cyprus Today and bought some olive bread while I was in there.

Tristan and Violet came on the webcam. Violet was so funny and was trying to tickle Grandad through the web cam! Next thing their computer crashed to the floor. Grandad does do some silly things!

Mal cut the hedges, lantana certainly grows at a speed. We later watched the football. Mal was not impressed with the Hammers result.

One of my cactus has started sprouting flowers again! I only just caught this one as the flowers only last for a day.

Today is World Peace Day

Late morning we drove up and up the mountains in Lapta as we were invited for lunch with Wendy and Ken. Ken is the author of the lovely books we are publishing, such a talented man.

This is one of the books we have published for him – Doodle and Scribble. There are more on the way! If anyone wants to buy it from Amazon, Ken will be more than happy to sign copies.

Their house is an old village house which they have renovated and extended over the last 10 years to make it something wonderful and the views from the terraces are fantasic. We had a really nice time with them.

I have to say we have this knife sharpener, one in North Cyprus and one in the caravan. I don’t like blunt knives in the kitchen and I really recommend this one! For those in North Cyprus, it won’t take much to slip it in your suitcase and bring back!

Report of Kulaksiz 5 court case yesterday.

It seems that someone was rather unpleasant to Pauline’s partner. I would have thought all of Kulaksiz 5 have more than enough on their plates already.

The weather is cooling down and we even had quite a wind.

I have to say I am so pleased that three of my grandchildren are being educated in Wales and won’t get caught up in England’s shake up of their education system. I feel they are going backwards introducing the Baccalaureate.  From an ex teacher and ex Principal Examiner (guess who) as he says, they don’t understand the present system so  good luck with a new one! I guess it will only be known as EBacc as half the kids won’t be able to spell the full title!

At least the temperature has dropped a little and so it was much nicer for gardening. We also had a walk along the coast.

In the afternoon I took Jill to Near East Hospital, where she had been to have an MRI and a second opinion about her knee following the operation carried by a medic in Girne. Her physio in Girne was telling her that she should now be walking without crutches and she can’t. A long story very short, she had fluid on her knee which the Professor drained there and then and now she has to have physio at Near East and then wait and see whether  she will need another operation. It seems the Girne medics were asking her to do the impossible as she also has a tear in the meniscus.. A good thing she went for a second opinion.

It really makes me cross that she now has no redress to the medic in Girne, he was paid and that is the end of it for him, even though she told him she couldn’t do what he was telling her. There’s no medical council here!!

In the evening we watched Downton Abbey, love it!
