We went for a muddy walk in the ravine and then I went to buy Cyprus Today. Quite honestly very little news in there but I did find a little disturbing  the article about fruit being returned to the TRNC from Turkey because of the pesticides and then it is going to be used locally!

Another shopping mall too?? Well I wonder if that is before or after the one supposedly to be built by Mare Monte, along with a zoo?!

For anyone wanting a holiday to North Cyprus, here is a bargain. The three week option sounds very good value.

Well, it certainly rained during the night  and it was so windy. Rosie started barking at 2 in the morning. She obviously thought it was an intruder as the swimming pool terrace gate was banging, so Mal had to get up and shut it!

Later we went to the beach in between showers and then to get some shopping. Butter nut squash is in the supermarkets and it makes lovely soup.  Of course we got wet going shopping and it seemed to rain most of the day. But there were quite  a few rainbows in between the sun and the rain.

A good deal if you want a third off National Express (if you are over 60)

We took Rosie down into the ravine first thing, still torrents of water running down there.

Not as warm as yesterday but no rain, so I didn’t mind. Mal managed to fix some things around the house  and crossed them off my “things to do list”.  I bet he is glad to be back!

Mal was so lucky to get out of the UK when he did. We listened to Radio 2 in the morning and all we heard about was the snow but it looks as though Scarlet and Jack enjoyed it. In total contrast we had lunch outside and sat outside afterwards playing cards!

We then watched the football and with one son supporting Chelsea and the other Man U perhaps the result was just as well (3-3) even though Man U scored 5 out of the 6 goals (2 own goals!!)

One of todays bargains I recommend Steam Generator Iron. I have one and it is really good for getting out baked on creases from clothes in the height of summer here.

Down to the beach with Rosie first thing. It was nice not to get blown to pieces down there for a change. In fact the weather has much improved. The sun came out and I could actually open some windows.  Of course I had to buy more cheese and olive bread at Atakara on the way home. It had just been baked and was still warm.

I think Mal is coming back home just in time. I heard from Rhys and there is snow in Cardiff and 10cm is expected in the south east of England. Lucky him! I received these messages while he was in Stansted airport.

I met Mal at the airport, his Pegasus flight arrived on time and we were soon home, much to Rosie’s delight, sniffing his case to see what goodies he had brought with him. And me of course, a new phone, a new kettle (one of Sainsbury’s half price bargains!) and a box of Green and Blacks chocolates, my favourite. In fact there was a long list of things he brought with him.

I would also like to say congratulations to a very special couple, Lisamaria and Ian who got engaged tonight!

Rosie and I went to the mountains. It’s surprising after all this bad weather, all the almond blossom is on the trees, a promise of Spring!

Mal was busy in the UK packing up ready to come back and weighing what he has to bring with him and last minute shopping! The exam board have asked him if he wants to be Principal Examiner for IT A level. I am sure he is going to decline!

I woke up to FROST! It was cold but later in the day although still chilly, at least the sun was out so better than the miserable rain. At least I could sit out in a sheltered area in the fresh air.

Rosie and I did go down into the ravine and the river is still flowing rather rapidly. I still find it hard to believe that this river used to be a footpath.

I spent a lot of time looking for bargains and there are some really good ones for Valentines Day. Flowers with free chocolates OR 19% off Valentine gifts
