Tuesday 3rd May 2011

Another lovely day and so we decided to wash the winter duvet. It is too big to go in the washing machine, so we did it in the bath.

Rosie wasn’t too bright on her very short walk and so I have started with pain killers again.

We spent the rest of the day in the garden, always something to do. Mal cut back all the lantana. Later we went for a swim, the pool is warming up nicely now.

Monday 2nd May 2011

I believe this is the new St George’s Day in the UK. It seems they have moved it!

The news today Bin Laden is dead. I fear the repercussions.

Mal and I tried to decide what to tell the vet when we ring him, so thought we would drive Rosie to the mountains to see how her leg was on a very short walk but at least for her, somewhere different. We took her and the cortisone has not improved her leg. She did have a good sniff round but we didn’t go far. We told the vet and he said to give her nothing and call him again in 10 days. I was relieved as I don’t think the cortisone was doing her any good and in fact, making her miserable. We will have to wait and see what the next course of action will be.

Mal and I went and did a bit of shopping and had lunch at Cafe Dukkan. It was really nice sitting outside having our lunch.

Sunday 1st May 2011

Rosie woke us up at 5.45. A dog was trying to get through our main gate. He couldn’t make it and so left us a ‘parcel’ on the drive!  I got up and took Rosie for a walk. It is lovely that time of the morning. I did see David and Jekka. Another short walk for Rosie.

I have to laugh at Cyprus 44 forum. One ‘moderator’ in particular, the ‘power’ seems to have gone to his head, he just closes threads at his whim. Two yesterday and this morning has closed a thread of Mal’s.  It used to be a forum with useful information. Nowadays it seems this mod just sits waiting to see how many posts he can close in one day. There is also a lot of back biting.  I think many have so much stress here already that they don’t need intimidation on a forum.

We swam in the pool in the afternoon and then watched the football. Both Man U and Hammers lost!

Rosie seemed very quiet all day and then suddenly perked up in the evening. Dogs are a bit like children with illness. As soon as you decide what you are going to tell the vet all things change! BUT she is drinking loads which means her bladder problem has come back.

I am watching my cactii as some of them are going to flower and when the flowers do appear, they only last for one day. The flower is from bougainvillea.
