On The Island

We checked the weather forecast and believed them and so started our walk at 7.45. We have to remember that Ellie is much slower in her recuperation from the op. But is was an even longer walk for her, we depend on her to tell us.

We went along the Rope Walk to the cricket pitch. Five minutes after we arrived home the heavens opened!

A bit too wet to do much!

We chatted to one of our neighbours when we walked Ellie. She works at Manston at the processing centre for the boat people. Contrary to what the news says, there have been no boats since Bank Holiday! People seriously shouldn’t believe everything they read or hear on the news.

A quick trip to Tesco and then a lot of rain.

We walked Ellie and it started raining, so we were a little wet by the time we returned home. Ellie was walking very slowly, maybe because it is a bit cooler and her joints are more painful.

A day indoors which we are not used to! I guess we need the rain.

A busy day at work!

Meanwhile at home, our boiler service by British Gas, all good. They don’t appear to be very busy as we only booked it last Thursday.

We walked Ellie and perhaps I shouldn’t say where as I intend going back some time to collect these sloes and then we can make some sloe gin!

Dom came for lunch. Jem should have joined us as well but she wasn’t well. As they are veggies Mal said he would cook the lunch, which was stuffed squash and all the vegetables were from the allotment.

I have to say it was very good. Dom also bought my birthday present with him, it was an olive tree!

 

I booked tickets for the Police Panto which the Red Hatters go to every year . It is not on until February but they know we are going and as it is a Cowboy theme this year, they have asked if we are wearing red cowboy hats. Looks as though we will have to now!  Maybe a bulk order to Temu.

We walked Ellie and just let her lead us slowly and although it was slow, she continued to the cricket pitch. We did sit down for a while before the walk back home but she has done really well.

Not a good game with Spurs. They lost. In fact I don’t think they woke up until 10 minutes before the end.

Rain! We won’t have to do all the watering today!

We managed to miss the showers for Ellie’s walk in the country park in Eastry and then collected her food from the vets. No, they haven’t received the results of her post op X ray yet.

In the evening we caught up with Destination X. We had to finish it before we saw the result on another programme. We were quite surprised at the winner as she made quite a few mistakes, which did worry us a little as she is a nuclear engineer!
