A walk around Eastry field.

Time to return to the vets with Ellie. This time the other vet referred us to Andy who is the  Orthopaedic specialist. He checked Ellie’s tummy and almost back to normal, just a slight twinge but he said that was OK. Also said her heart was in very good condition and then started moving all her joints around to see if she had pain. He said he could feel her metal plate.

We all came to the conclusion that the trial of Metacam may not have been needed and to keep her off meds and assess her.  He also had a form (LOAD), questionnaire to assess Ellie every month and then return it to him.  This form is part of his research with Liverpool Uni.  He then told us he knew all about Goldies as he has one!! Excellent.

We asked if anyone had returned the form to Waves for Ellie’s Hydrotherapy and he said there was no note on our files. I contacted Waves when we were home and they said they had sent the form and would chase them up. We need the vets consent.

In the afternoon I was back in Eastry for my exercise class.

In the evening we started the latest series of Slow Horses.

A short walk around the cricket pitch as Ellie is getting back to normal and she wanted to walk further than we let her. We didn’t want her to overdo it. There were a lot of mosquitoes down there and we were both bitten.

So many tomatoes, they keep coming every day!

Two losses with the football in the evening, both Spurs and Hammers but I guess we have to be thankful Spurs scored a goal at last!

A work day and we were so busy. We sold so many Christmas cards of course along with so much more. I didn’t stop and we also had so many donations.

Ellie seemed a lot better and her tummy has settled and so she came upstairs with us at night and she slept well. ………..so did we!

It appears Ellie didn’t need to go out during the night, so that was progress. We went to Eastry field again so that Ellie could just wander around and she managed more than yesterday.

More positivity, her stools were more solid at last. Back home and our neighbour Jeanette was walking by with her dog Chippy, so we invited her in for a cuppa. It was a bit more interaction for Ellie even though she wanted to sleep!

We watched the Manchester match later in the day. They seem to make up the rules as they go along. That certainly didn’t seem a goal for Man City! Also there was a lot more to Foden’s sending off!

Ellie ‘s tummy is still not back to normal and she went outside in the early hours but she is now eating as normal.

We decided to take her a bit further than we have been for some new sniffs , the thing that dogs love, new sniffs! So, we took her to the field in Eastry and she enjoyed a wander around there.

Then she came home and slept, still recovering.

I then discovered a 3 day break to Liverpool next year that I thought Kent Lavender Ladies may be interested in. Pam and I will be going whatever!

Then it was time to watch Spurs…….awful 0-0!! Not one goal in the league this season.

 

 

The vet called us in the morning saying there was nothing too bad about the blood test but she may need the pain killers changing (it was only a trial!) not sure she really needs them or it may be something to do with her pancreas…maybe, maybe. We have made another appointment with her for Wednesday to see how she is without the Metacam and see how she is doing. She is still recovering, sleeping a lot.

I went into Deal to do a bit of shopping. I found a really lovely hand painted limited edition painting of a harvest mouse. It’s only about 3 inches by 3 inches but is really sweet and was £1 !

An excellent Hammers game with them winning 6-0!!

Mal had another night with Ellie downstairs as her tummy still hasn’t settled properly.

Ellie still wasn’t well and not interested in food so I made an appointment with the vets.

It was a Kent Lavender Ladies lunch and there were only five of us this time but it was really nice and cosy. We met at Taddy’s Barn.

I left a little earlier than the others as we had the appointment with the vet. Eleanora said Ellie’s heart, lungs and temperature were all good and she wanted to take a blood test. I have to say Ellie did perk up a little when she saw the treat jar, which she is very familiar with! No, she didn’t have one. We were given probiotic paste and told to stop using her pain killers and instead to give her half a Paracetamol tablet instead.

I started giving her a little more food when we were home and she ate a little more. Mal spent another night downstairs with her.
