On The Island

We took Ellie to Botany Bay (in between the rain!)

We were the only people down there. Lots of mussel shells on the beach.

It was Mal’s sister Marion’s birthday today so we took her present and card to her. She had a new phone and so that took up all morning for not just Mal transferring all her numbers but trying to teach her how to use it. Marion has disabilities and a good thing Mal has so much patience with her.  But I had to entertain her, not easy and she gets louder and louder. We were both exhausted by the time we left.

I spent the rest of the day tracking Sara Cox, then watching live when she finished. Very emotional during the day.  She did so well raising  9.5 million pounds! Then of course Children In Need in the evening.

After Ellie’s walk we drove to Faversham. Mal took Ellie to the park and I went to Maxillofacial/Periodontal, whatever they want to call it nowadays. He did more checking , cleaning, measuring and said he can’t give a date for the next op until I have the wobbly tooth out, so I have to book it with my dentist for the end of January. I took a pain killer before I went in there and it still hurt!

Managed to get booked with the dentist  Zareen for the end of January for the extraction.

Just had to donate to Sara Cox (Radio 2), she is doing so well. Over 3 million pounds raised so far.

I forgot to mention how many police were out and about in the Isle of Wight.  We are not used to seeing that many Police and so many unmarked police cars stopping drivers.

In the evening watched the winning game for England.

We took Ellie to Kearsney, the first time she has been here since the op. We wondered if she would go in the stream….straight in and she managed to get in and out.

Mal put his wellies on just in case she couldn’t get back up but she managed and then rolled in the mud!!

She had fun!

A day volunteering at work , quite quiet as far as customers but plenty of stock to sort. We also have to sell the “Superdraw” lottery tickets and we came first in the area for the amount sold!! I do try hard as we have targets for that as well.

Didn’t feel too good in the morning, I felt as though I had a hangover, usually do after bad migraine. An easy day, catching up with Strictly.

We packed up all ready for the 9am ferry. A much better ferry, this time the lift went all the way to the pet area. Plus, as we were there early, we were right at the front.

And leaving the island……….

And in no time at all…Portsmouth….

What a lovely holiday and we will be back again in March!

Back home just in time to watch the Spurs v Man U game…..a draw! Later Hammers won. I had migraine along with sickness and went to bed early.

We went to Ryde in the morning for a wander along the front and around the shops. A lot of charity shops and they all seemed to have dog treats.

In the afternoon we sat outside the lodge and played cards. (While Ellie watched the red squirrels).
