Oh how Torin suffered! About half an hour sunbathing and back to bed. He managed to eat a bit of dinner and had very little recollection of the previous night. Not much good if you can’t remember any of it!

He missed a really good days weather, so Mal and I made the most of it outside.

Torin spent the day ‘chilling out’ and then in the evening we decided to try Zeki’s, the new bar in Lapta. It was really nice in there and they make you feel very much at home. We had a good meal and Hakan even showed us around the place. Torin did more ‘chilling out’ obviously not realising that the measures of shorts aren’t quite the same as in the UK. In fact he chilled so much that by the time we got him home (about 2.00am) he kept falling over! Could well be because this is an earthquake zone but Mal and I managed to stay upright!

The last picture is Torin convincing us that he hadn’t fallen over, he was looking at the stars!!

We have a huge bookcase and Mal and I decided to clean all the books following all the summer dust. Between us we found seven potter wasp nests amongst the books. I am sorry to say, they did not stay!

Torin’s plane was an hour and a quarter late leaving Stansted. We went  to collect him from Ercan. The  pilot must have made up time, as it arrived only half hour late. Of course once back home we sat and chatted until the early hours.

Again we were woken by the hunters at 6.00am. Goodness only knows what they were shooting at as it was barely light. Another trip to the beach to avoid getting shot at in the mountains.

Yet again the hunters were far too near our houses, it seems the Police did little last week so the hunters have no deterent. They can fire away as close to us and our neighbours as they want to. But I hadn’t reckoned on Lena going out and sorting them out! Good for her. A few choice Turkish phrases and they were on their way.

It was 14 degrees when we went to bed, the temperature is dropping.

We went shopping in the morning, for a change went to Bektas where they had quite a few offers. Next on to buy some trees for the front garden. We went to a very nice Cypriot man on the main road just down from Alsancak. We wanted another fig, so he pointed us in the direction of the figs, picked one up and took it to our car. Mal and I were in hysterics because we hadn’t actually said that was the one we wanted but he had chosen a good one and also a good Cypress tree. We have to go back the following day for almond. Good prices too.    As we came out Bev and Gary pulled up.  We haven’t seem them for ages as they have been suffering from the bug too.

We watched the England game  in the evening followed by the last episode of Collision.
