Happy 16th Birthday to our grand daughter Josie….

A work day and we were surprisingly very busy. Worn out again by the time I had finished.
We planned on going to Knees Wood but on arriving there, it was all shut up and we couldn’t get in! Instead we walked along a public footpath, where the farmer had obviously pulled all the signs down and East Kent Highways have put up an official notice on keeping their footpaths clear!! More and more farmers are trying to do this!
Oh I forgot, I received this from work, which I thought was really lovely.

It is really nice to be appreciated!
Spurs played in the afternoon and won! Yeah!
Another romcom in the evening…”Jack and Sarah”! It will be back to “normal” tomorrow.
We needed a breath of fresh air and so went to Deal sea front. It was more than a breath, it was very windy! It did us good.

In the afternoon we watched Hammers, oh dear, they lost.
Another film in the evening “Sleepless in Seattle”.
We took Ellie to Kearsney. It was cold but of course Ellie wanted to go in the stream and ran towards it and straight in.
Then of course she rolled in all the mud.

She really enjoyed herself and we were surprised how few people were out and about.
Lazy day and so we watched Turner and Hooch in the afternoon. Torin used to have a Dogue de Bordeaux, lovely dogs but very strong. I walked him once and he pulled me over! Torin told me to put his special harness on and I said I was fine and didn’t need it, so serves me right!
On Christmas Day Ollie brough us round a lot of fish, from his work at Wheeler’s, dressed crabs and freshly smoked salmon and so we had a day eating fish and salad…lovely!
Then in the evening we watched Love Actually. What a lazy day.
We walked Ellie across the fields first thing, very windy! We then went to the cemetery to put flowers on Torin’s grave. We were quite amazed that the miniature daffodils I planted just in front are all coming through!!

Lou, Rhys, Ollie, Oscar and Josie came round for Christmas lunch. Mal did all the cooking and as usual we had so much food left over but it was all very nice. Well done Mal.
Later in the afternoon, I was warming the Christmas pudding up and the electricity went off! Just like it used to be in North Cyprus but I thought we now lived in a civilised country!
I always miss Torin at Christmas, made worse because the family (except Mal) don’t talk about him.
Preparation for Christmas day.
I went to buy the fresh food for Thursday and also a couple of joints of beef to put in the freezer now the turkey has graduated to the fridge!
