A busy day at work.

Sunday 25th January 2026

We went to Wingham orchards to walk Ellie. She was very curious about the rabbit holes today. I remember when she used to chase them round the orchards! A miserable, muddy day.

We decided to do our “Birdwatch” an hour walking round the orchards.

Of course a lot of birds.

The farm shop on the way home so that Mal could buy some seed potatoes for the allotment and also we topped up our Jazz apples from their own orchards.

Later we watched the Man U v Arsenal game. A good game – Man U won!

Bored with TV we started re watching ‘Last Tango in Halifax’ from season one. Sally Wainwright is such a good writer.

Saturday 24th January 2026

The sun was out! We walked the fields in Eastry .

Then on to the vets to collect a sack of Ellie’s diet food.

Lunchtime we met up with Jem, Dom, Tris, Heather and Jem’s mum Chrissy as it was Jem’s birthday. We ate at Pan Asian and had lovely Thai meals. Nice to see everyone.

Margate was so busy. We thought it was because the sun was out but there were a lot of art exhibitions on. The beach was quite empty.

Friday 23rd January 2026

Into Deal as Mal had to go for an eye test. We walked Ellie along the sea front first. It was windy and freezing. It started raining just before we were back in the car. I ended up waiting in the car while he went for his appointment, didn’t want to get any wetter.

Ellie obviously felt the cold and snuggled down when home!

In the afternoon it was so miserable we watched a film that has been nominated for an Oscar… “A Friend of Dorothy”. A short film but good.

The Pro Palestinian protesters are out again in Sandwich. They start off in Discovery Park where they (Instro Precision) are making the drones and weapons and then go through Sandwich, letting fireworks off and I have heard they have clashed with Police.

The Traitors Finale in the evening. A good ending!

Wednesday 21st January 2026

Heavy rain in the morning. I had to go to Westwood Cross to collect a birthday present. It is now a nightmare going there, more and more houses springing up all the way and the road disrupted where they are putting in services. Thanet will soon be nothing but new housing estates.

Meanwhile Mal and Ellie got very wet on their walk!

Traitors again in the evening. Only two more to go!

Tuesday 20th January 2026

I sorted all my washing out. Mal had done all of his! We went to Kearsney and it was really nice and sunny. We also stayed at the cafe for a coffee. It really was so nice to hear the birds singing.

The first Winterwatch in the evening. They explained it is now on at 7pm, so as not to clash with Traitors and also introduced their own version of Traitors!! Amusing.

We then watched the Spurs game and they won!!!! Yeah!!
