We walked along Greatstone Beach. Still windy but not quite as bad as the previous day.

We then went to The Snack Shack in Dungeness for an early lunch BUT they had no scallops and no lobster as it was too windy!! But the fish we did have was really delicious.

It is usually so busy but I guess the wind put people off today as all the seating is outside on the beach. I had to keep my hood up or my hair would have been totally knotted!

We went back to the caravan and in the afternoon walked to Lade Pits, Dungeness Nature Reserve where the  Sound Mirrors are. This is just at the edge of the caravan site, you go down a steep pebbly path. I was so busy helping Ellie I slipped and went flat. Mal just laughed. Not funny, I jarred my back.

I think we wore Ellie out!

In the evening we watched Race Across the World and then Slow Horses.

A very windy night but then we are on the Marshes and this is a caravan not a lodge!

We then went for our lunch at The Pilot at Dungeness. I always have skate when I go there, it is always so good and fresh but today’s was huge. I can’t say I love the batter, so Mal has the batter along with his fish and I just eat the skate. So much fish on it. I did share a bit with Ellie! Of course she just sat under the table.

We sat and played cards in the evening.

We packed a few things for a couple of days away in an AirBandB in Greatstone, an area we know really well, not too far to drive. It was a caravan in a very quiet part of New Romney Park. It is right opposite Greatstone Beach.

On the way we stopped at the Ship Hotel for lunch. It has had a major refurb. The staff are just so lovely there and can’t do enough for you. Biscuits and water bowl brought to the table for Ellie as well.

We then went on to the caravan. It was nice and cosy, with a large main bedroom. Looking around we discovered it has everything you could want, in fact an abundance of everything . Having stayed in so many caravans and lodges, they don’t have enough pillows/egg cups/potato peeler/measuring jug/dog bowls etc etc. This has everything including an air fryer and basic groceries, tea bags, coffee etc etc This is all well thought out.

It also has free internet and everything you could want on the TV.

We learnt today that Ellie’s EU pet passport is no longer valid as they have changed the rules. Who on earth was stupid enough to vote for Brexit?!

A work day and it took me an hour and a quarter to get there because of road works.

We were surprisingly quiet but there is always culling of stock to do and new stock to put out. Poor Jack has an ear infection and not at all well but he had a new assistant manager from another branch to train.

We went to Knees Wood , a lot of bluebells everywhere there. A walk in the woods and then a coffee in the cafe.

Garden in the afternoon. Mal went to the allotment, a lot to do there at the moment. He brought some delicious asparagus back home for dinner.

We did watch Man City beat Arsenal!!!

I wonder who the idiots were who set fire to parts of Pegwell Bay, destroying a lot of the wildlife nests etc . This is where we go to The Viking Ship.

Spurs played in the afternoon. It looked as though were playing a little better but it was only a draw! Painful to keep watching them when they may be “going down.”

We had a gift voucher for Christmas from Jem and Dom and it was for Foliage. Originally it was for afternoon cocktails – no way when I have to drive so we changed it to afternoon tea. Also it was until the end of March but because I was unwell they were kind enough to extend it for us. It’s a very nice place and lovely staff and it is dog friendly. They even brought a bowl of dog biscuits for Ellie!

Very nice but too much and too much sugar!!
