Another beautiful day so we headed to St Mildred’s Bay for Trev’s goldie meet up. There were 12 goldies there today, some very crazy ones. The coastguard rescue, a sight we see far too often, was circling very low above us.

After about half an hour we could see Ellie flagging a little, well she is 12 and a half and sometimes she starts to show her age.  At the moment we have her on double Yumove, hoping that will help.

Spurs v Arsenal in the afternoon. Oh dear Arsenal won, I will hear about it tomorrow as Jack supports them!

I then cooked a meal which I used to cook a lot in Cyprus, Lamb Khoresh and have to say I was shocked at the butchers when I discovered the diced lamb was £28 per kilo…..ouch!  But it is delicious.

Another beautiful day, so off to Kearsney Abbey. Ellie so loves going in the stream (and rolling in the mud afterwards but we’ll forget about that bit!)

We had a coffee in the cafe while Ellie dried off a bit in the sun.

In the afternoon it was football. Luton (won) followed by Hammers , a draw by the skin of their teeth!

Of course Strictly in the evening……must be heading for Christmas!

Shopping in the morning. No idea why I went to Westwood because there were so many road works, even our toll bridge is closed for two weeks. Total chaos.

However after Sainsburys, I called into Aldi (far cheaper cheese and equal quality!) I always use cash so took my trolley to the self check out. The last 50p piece jammed in the till. I called the assistant over who told me to pay the 49p by card.  I refused as I wanted to pay cash!  So, she had to get the manager. She told me exactly the same thing so again I said no. In the end she paid on an Aldi card and took the cash! No apologies nothing. I wouldn’t mention this but exactly the same thing happened to me in Aldi Deal last week. I can’t be the only one this is happening to, so it seems to me that they are not maintaining the cash tills hoping everyone will give up and use card only! Cash will go if people don’t use it!

I spent the afternoon in the garden as the sun was out.

We lit our candles in the evening, one on the living room and one in the kitchen window.

I went shopping in Deal, calling in to my favourite shop the Little Purple wardrobe but resisted buying anything. I also went to the market which is always buzzing on a Saturday morning. The town had their Union Jack flags up ready for the football.

Back home and time for the hairdressers and after that just in time for the start of the England game. A 2-0 victory.

We made our way home. We were going to lunch in Hythe but the weather was miserable and so decided to come straight home.

Heavy rain was forecast, well I suppose we had a few days sun!  We took Ellie for a walk over the fields. There is a large dog walking area past the Camping Pods.

Of course the other side is the country park.

We decided to go to The Pilot as again the fish is so good there. We also like Dungeness. We are not the only ones who like it . The Pilot is good because they have a huge area where dogs are allowed. I had the skate and as it is always so big Mal had the senior fish and chips which means I can give him half of mine as I can never eat it all!

We took our waterproofs with us but left them in the car, we are not used to rain. While we were having lunch the torrential rain started and the thunderstorm. We were in no rush to leave.

The sea was getting rougher and rougher but we were very cosy inside with Ellie laying under our table.

When we did leave the car park was flooded and the entire sea road flooded, seriously flooded. We were lucky to get back to Marlie. It looked as though none of the drains were working, no wonder the sea is in such a state.
