Sunday 9th April 2023

We took Ellie to Trevor’s beach buddies and wow, there were 17 goldies today! They really have so much fun down there. I don’t know another breed where that would be that many dogs playing with no quarrels! Trevor even bought Easter treats for all the dogs as he said they couldn’t have Easter eggs so he bought them all a chewy bone and they all knew what was in his rucksack!

Ellie had such a good time running and chasing around and needless to say scrounging treats but they all do that!

Back home and it was time to put the new shed together!

Saturday 8th April 2023

Ellie had an appointment at the vets with Megan. Her weight has remained the same as it was the last visit, 3 weeks ago, so all good as her food has been increased.Megan said she would like half a kilo more to go but we think she is now at a good weight. 28.4kg.

We parked at the Picnic site in Eastry and went for a long walk.

After lunch Mal had his eye appointment, so we went to Deal, I walked Ellie along the sea front while he was in there. We were back in time to watch the second half of the football. Hammers and Spurs won! The commentators called the Spurs game “fiery!” Yes it certainly was.

Friday 7th April 2023

Rhys’s birthday but sadly he was working. I had an eye appointment in Deal. My glasses need to be changed but I couldn’t be bothered to choose new ones today. They kept reminding us the appointments were due and we have been busy, so mine today was a cancellation I booked last week. I had to book Mal one but they were way ahead in May, so I kept checking and obviously another cancellation, I have booked tomorrow!

Mal painted 4 panels of fencing, making the most of the good weather.

Thursday 6th April 2023

We took Ellie to the park in Ramsgate and then on to the beach and we walked along to Dumpton. It wasn’t very busy because we were early.

When we got to Dumpton there was filming going on. No idea what they were filming.

The workmen said they were coming back today to finish off.  Well, they hadn’t made it by lunchtime! They arrived at 4pm to fit the new gate. They didn’t finish “Back on Tuesday” Great!

We watched the Lionesses in the evening. An excellent first half but the second half they were nowhere near as good and Brazil scored an equalizer in extra time, so a penalty shoot out which we won!

Wednesday 5th April 2023

I had an appointment for Maxillofacial. The beginning of another round of treatment. Two dentists back removed two thirds of a bridge and yesterday, the third that was left was painful and also the gum below was looking black!

It was a lovely walk to the dentist in the sunshine, I could have carried on along the river! But I didn’t!

So, once I arrived I had to tell Nicole, the periodontal lady everything that happened since I last saw her. She made lot of notes and checked out the area where I had the tooth out and told me I must keep the hospital appointment , whenever they send for me!

I then mentioned the third of the bridge and she confirmed it was an abscess. I did notice whilst waiting they had posters up reading “antibiotics is not the answer to tooth ache”. So, she said if I was happy with it she would start the maxillo work and also drain the abscess.  I agreed even though I wanted to run! All I can say is today it really hurt, I had to stop her twice and also draining the abscess was very unpleasant as well. She did a quarter of my mouth and said she was sending a letter to my dentist about this third of a bridge, either deep root or extraction. I guess all of this will be discussed when I see Teresa on 3rd May. I was so glad to get out of there but of course have another appointment next Wednesday for the next quarter!

A lovely sunny day and Mal started fence painting. I took pain killers as she really bashed my mouth around.

We watched the Hammers in the evening, oh dear, quite a loss.

Tuesday 4th April 2023

We were up early to meet Lou and Rhys at 7.30 am. An early dog walk along the beach in Ramsgate. That was followed by a coffee at Alison’s Kiosk. It was nice to see them both. They are always so busy nowadays.

We then waited in for the Sky man to come to sort the aerial as we are changing to them.

Mal started cleaning the fences ready to paint.

Monday 3rd April 2023

My volunteer day at Cancer Research charity shop. It seemed quite quiet seeing as it is school holidays, I thought it would have been busier.

We watched the Spurs game in the evening, oh dear it should have been a win.
