I went shopping and bumped into Millie and Sol. What a coincidence as it is Millie’s birthday. I had posted her present and she had received it and thanked me. They are going house hunting this weekend.  I bought more seeds for the allotment and also managed to find some alliums.

After lunch we went to the allotments and of course I planted the alliums . Mal put some more parsnips in and we did a bit of watering. It looks as though there isn’t going to be rain for quite a while. Rhubarb and spinach to take home.

We took Ellie to Deal sea front. It wasn’t as cold as the previous day.

I spent the afternoon sorting cupboards in the kitchen while Mal went to the allotment.

Mal took Ellie whilst I went to QEQM Hospital in Margate. I had an appointment with the “eye consultant”. I was in there two and a half hours, having scans, tests and then putting anaesthetic in my eyes while they examined behind. I have had blocked glands but there is no damage and also a little concern about my peripheral vision. I felt very honoured to see a proper “eye doctor” as although I am sounding old now, I don’t trust all the new “opticians”. For the first 11 years of my life, I was always attending eye clinics so don’t really enjoy having my eyes poked around. All seems OK unless I have more headaches or light circles then to contact them. If not they will call me again in 4 months.

I am glad we have a large sofa as Ellie seems to think that it is hers. I do put her blanket on it but she really stretches out!

We watched Spurs in the evening, a good game and a win now that Mourinho has gone!

Our walk was at St Mildred’s Bay. Of course Ellie went into the sea so she was happy. Maybe we went too early as it was still very misty. We stopped at Millie’s for a coffee.

That was Mal’s “before” picture. I dropped him off at Bay Barbers on the way home! A haircut at last.

After Ellie’s walk by the river, Mal and I went into Deal, so I could choose my second pair of varifocals.  They asked if the ones I had already had been OK. I told them if I was honest if I was reading or doing a lot of screen work, I put on my reading glasses. She told me that is what most people do!

In the afternoon we went to the allotments.

Ellie does like it at my allotment, not so keen on Mal’s as she is not sure where she is allowed to tread yet!

A sad day for football. Who wants a Super League? And the rich get richer.
