A lovely walk with Ellie but it was cold even though the sun was out. We then went to Howletts to meet up with Lou, Ollie, Oscar and Josie. Some of the animals were inside, I guess they were cold and Arina, the beautiful tiger was right over the other side of the enclosure, fast asleep. It’s always nice to walk around there whatever the weather. We never tire of it. Today the gorillas put on a show for us chasing each other around and play fighting.

Later we watched Andy Murray just scrape through and  then the football. Spurs v Hammers. I was pleased Spurs won. Mal wasn’t!!

Mal was working in the  afternoon and so in the morning we went for a long walk with Ellie and it was a nice sunny morning even though the temperature had dropped. Loads of toadstools and we also saw the heron on the lake.

 Later I dropped Mal off in Sturry and then went into Canterbury. This time I managed to find a new pair of trousers in M&S and also a nice warm fluffy jumper. This is the only problem with losing weight, my clothes don’t fit!

I am horrified to read about a bill  that they are putting forward in  Turkey. The bill will pardon statutory rape if the perpetrators  marry the victim. This is sick.

We spent the evening watching Children in Need. I believe Demelza receive a contribution.

Mal shouldn’t be working on Thursday but they asked if he would go and teach A level at their Ashford Campus!! As a one off he agreed, so again I dropped him off in Canterbury, I took Ellie to a different wood just outside Canterbury, hoping foxes wouldn’t have been there. I really didn’t want to spend all the time I did yesterday cleaning her. She behaved herself.

I started doing some gardening as there were leaves all over the lawn. Then it started raining. In fact each time I tried again the rain started so I gave up.

I wrapped some Christmas presents.

Mal enjoyed his day in Ashford, bit if a bonus as he gets paid for it!

Mal had an earlier start and so I dropped him off in Canterbury at 7.15. Ellie and I went round the orchards again on the way home. She loves that walk and because it was early all the rabbits were out.

As we walked around the third orchard, I took my eye off Ellie, well actually she runs around but never goes far, so I called her and for the first time in ages she had rolled!! Suffice to say she obviously preferred to smell like a fox! Yuk. My problem of course was that I had to take her back in the car. She stank so I had to drive back with the windows open and there is a cover on the back seat which of course I had to wash as soon as I got home. In fact she stank so much I had to hose her before I could even take her indoors to shower her. A good thing that it was a mild day and the outside water was not freezing!

Oh the pleasures of having a gun dog breed!

Later I went Christmas shopping, so many presents to buy, so thought I had better make a real effort. I did manage three.

Mal was home by 4.30 but I had to leave the Murray tennis match to go and pick him up from Wingham! Although he lost the first set Murray is through to the semis.

I dropped Mal off at Sturry station. We sat in the traffic queue for ages. It is always the same heading for Canterbury. When I worked there I used to start very early, not just to avoid the queues but also to build up flexi time, so I had lots of holidays!

On the way home Ellie and I went for a long walk under a really lovely blue sky around the orchards. Ellie plays amongst the leaves.

Gardening in the afternoon and then we watched the Spain – England game in the evening.

My day at Demelza, which I really enjoy. In the afternoon it was only Jack (the assistant manager) and I. I am sure most people wouldn’t believe how customers try to beat us down on prices and we remind them that it is a charity shop! Some people!!

Michael and Alfie are busy. They were on BBC in the morning and then singing the Floral dance in the evening for BBC Children in Need Rocks. So glad that we managed to get tickets to see them.  This is how busy they are!!

It was so nice that we went to Botany Bay for a long walk with Ellie.

Mal went to his allotment later and brought back a lot of vegetables.
