A bit of a damp day and so we put off our idea of a walk in Chicksands wood. Instead the “kids”(which includes Torin!) played with their Nerf guns.

Lunchtime we went to China Express in Sandy. It’s a lovely restaurant and they made a real fuss of the kids and gave them loads of sweets and fortune cookies to bring home!

Another cold morning at Minnis Bay. As the weather men said, the wind doesn’t go round you, it goes through you today!

I packed some things together and took Ellie to Lou’s as they are looking after her for the weekend, good practice getting her used to staying there. She loves being with the kids. Then I headed off to Torin’s.

Torin cooked me a lovely dinner in the evening and we sat chatting until the early hours.

Looks can be deceptive. This morning for our walk I waited until later and the sun was out. It looked so lovely outside, so Ellie and I went to Minnis Bay. Yes, it was sunny for a while, then we had a hail storm. We got soaked and it was bitterly cold.

In the afternoon Oscar’s class had a special assembly all about superheroes. He was batman. Lou and I went along to watch it and very good it was too. The kids are all so sweet.

It poured down with snow but again didn’t settle much but it was enough to make snowballs when they arrived home.

Ellie and I were at the beach for 7.00am as the plumber was coming to replace the upstairs WC between 8 and 1.

The tide was way out and of course Ellie had to run all the way down to it. She also loves tossing around the whelks egg containers! There is one just in front of her in the photo.

It was worth rushing back for as he arrived at 5 past 8. Good man. Endless cups of coffee for him and a lot of chat and job done! I spent the rest of the day waiting for the double glazing man for an estimate to replace the back door.

My friend in Cyprus was having a bad day and so I Skyped her, really nice to catch up.

Mal phoned and talked me through a repair to my computer and eventually I was back online. I have a feeling this computer will need replacing sometime. Mal is going to try and use some of his old computer when he gets back.

It was warmer on the beach and Ellie was running for miles chasing the geese into the sea. She can just about be seen to the left of the photo.

Lou and Rhys invited me to breakfast at Quex Barn. I had haddock and poached eggs, really good as usual. It started to snow on the way home.

Al Murray has been in Margate today, I think he will have my vote!

COLD! We arrived at Minnis Bay and it was minus 1 degree! I had put some towels out on the line before I left and they were frozen by the time I returned. Having said that it is bright and sunny.

I went shopping in the morning. I had to go and buy another vase as Mal has now sent me two bouquets of flowers. The second one I had was not really big enough for the second bouquet. That’s so sweet of him.

I couldn’t finish this or anything else as I lost internet connection. I did all the usual things, nothing worked. Will have to speak to my techy (Mal)  in the morning!

Ellie and I went to Minnis Bay. One Degree it said in the car and she still wanted to go in the sea and chase the Sanderlings! The wind was horrendous but Ellie loved it. Dog walkers were losing their hats all across the beach! It was a bitter wind but that is what all us silly dog walkers do!

In contrast Mal has sent me photos of the swimming pool terrace he has finished cleaning and there is brilliant sunshine. He has all the gardening to do next. But today he is going out to lunch with David and Kenny.

The rest of the morning watching the tennis…..Djokovic and Murray.  Not good Murray lost again.

I had lunch over with Lou and Rhys. Rhys had a gap during his working hours.
