It was very windy in the night and in the morning, so all my cleaning floors a bit of a waste as dust is everywhere. Mal cleaned the pool which also had an assortment of debris and dust in it. He only did it two days ago. Later we packed our cases (again!)
In the evening we went to Ercan to catch the 7.00pm Pegasus flight for a very quick visit to the UK. On arriving at passport control, when we thought it would be very quiet, it was packed with massive queues and it took three quarters of an hour to get through. By this time (after midnight) all the car hire offices had closed down except Enterprise, where we had booked ours. They (thankfully) kept it open for us.

It rained!! OK, only for about three minutes but it was rain.
Into Girne in the morning.First of all we went to pay our electricity bill at Kibtek. It was quite empty when we arrived but their were eight men behind the desk and only one was actually dealing with any of the public. More and more people came in. No wonder there is always such a backlog in there.
We made wills here a long, long time ago and have no receipt that they were ever lodged at the court, so we contacted our lawyer. She told us copies of the wills were in two separate buildings and it wasn’t necessary to lodge them at the court, telling us that in past years there was a fire at the court and papers were lost. But for our peace of mind we told her we wanted them registered at the court. Well, some things needed changing, for example we had no address all those years ago. So that was added and a couple of other alterations. New wills produced and stamps put on them and then every page signed and the stamps signed and two witness signatures as well all over the place! Two of the girls from the office, the witnesses, then took us to the court. We then both had to sign the official envelopes and these were red wax sealed. We now have the receipts. Our lawyer only charged us for the cost of the stamps for court, so that was good. But that was the morning gone…things never happen in a hurry here!
Cyprus Today. Is it just me or didn’t the residents at the Sun Villa site realise they were still on builders electricity and why? I think I would have queried it long ago the size of their bills.
A report from Karsiyaka Turtle Watch…
“2013 Nest Results – 60 nests (inc. 3 Green Nests) from these we had 3908 eggs laid and from those 3176 hatchlings made it safely into the sea. Sadly only 3 will probably make it, to return to nest (if female) when they are mature in around 20yrs. This is why protection is so important for these endangered species. Thank you all for your support this year. Tricia – KTW”
Well done to all the volunteers. We were lucky enough to happen to be on the beach when they were excavating one of the Green Turtle Nests when River was here.
We watched The Great Gatsby in the evening. I read the book a long long time ago. I have to say the film was very good. It just happens to be one of the books River is doing in the 6th form.
Three minutes rain! Thought for the Day – “Life is full of beauty. Notice it. Notice the bumble bee, the small child and the smiling faces. Smell the rain and feel the wind. Live your life to the fullest potential and fight for your dreams.” ~ Ashley Smith
It is looking as though there may be a Cyprus settlement in the first few months of 2014. The house prices will go up then! Perhaps we ought to wait to sell ours. Talking of which we had a couple came to view and totally fell in love with the view from the terrace. They made us a tentative offer which was a little low and they have gone away to think about it. We also had an estate agent approach us saying that they want to market our property. We have had a lot of interest.
Black cat has been up again. She just comes and sits under the terrace with us and then wanders off when she has had a rest.
