We took Ellie out and then went to Dreamland to meet Tris and Violet. There was a Farmers Market and Food Fayre on. A very poor attempt. A Farmer’s market for Vegans is certainly what we expected!

I even tried some “soothing repair cream” on one stall. I told the woman I use Bee Propolis and she said “Ah but ours is totally natural and vegan”. And bee propolis isn’t??!! These people make me laugh when they don’t know what they are talking about.

Tris and Violet went on some rides.

Mal and I went to the Mechanical Elephant for our lunch. Violet chose to stay in Dreamland.

Not so many on the beach today.

Across to the beach again.

We then went back for breakfast, packed everything and headed for home. By the time we were home, the sun had disappeared!

Mal went to the allotment to picks lots and I went shopping. Then of course all the washing to do!

Ellie’s walk on the beach in the sun first thing.

We then went to the Romney Marsh visitors centre. Sadly there is no information there any more. There used to be a lovely lady in situ who would tell you such interesting things about the area. The lady behind the counter today just wanted to sell you things. At least there used to be a nice lake you can walk around and sit by…..it had dried up! Last time we were shown all round the community garden. This time we were told the community are no longer allowed in ! “Health and Safety issues” we were told. The Art Gallery was no more either.

The whole area has changed so much, it seems everyone has given up. At the Warren Inn we were short changed £10, we decided to book a meal at Santa Fe but spent two days trying to find out how to book, then discovering they now only open Friday and Saturday nights!!

We moved on to Dymchurch but there is little of interest there, so we continued to Hythe. We walked through the park and then went to have a snack lunch in ‘Truly Scrumptious’.

We sat outside with many others, enjoying the weather.  Ellie just lay by the side of me. Next thing a lady got up from her seat which her dog had been tied to. The dog obviously didn’t want to be left and bolted, along with the metal chair attached. This hit Ellie full pelt and also my foot. It all happened very quickly but Ellie was really shocked, well actually I was too. Not nice.

Another long walk along the beach when we were back in Romney. At least she is really enjoying her holiday!

In the evening we went to Romney Spice to have dinner and a very good Indian it was too. I had King Prawn Amon Tik which was so tasty. I have never had that before.

The weather forecast was right, light rain first thing and then much heavier. We managed to get on the beach in the light rain! No matter what the weather, Ellie enjoys herself.

Back to the caravan for a dry out when the heavy rain came. Mal had an hours work to do anyway, which fitted in nicely. He teaches teachers online.

The rain stopped by lunchtime and so we were able to continue as planned and go and have lunch at the Fish Shack in Dungeness. There is only outdoor seating and it literally is a shack with a wetfish shed next door BUT they have the most amazing fish. I always have the lobster!

We walked around Dungeness. It really is a weird place.

From there we went to Lydd and had a look around All Saints church. Then on to Rye. We went and had a pot of tea at our favourite cafe, The Corridor Cafe. Of course we know all the dog friendly places. Another beach walk on the way home.

In the evening we drove to Saint Mary in the Marsh and went to The Star, a lovely friendly pub. They introduced Ellie to their dog!

We were up early, surprisingly the central heating came on in the caravan! So, we were out on the beach for a long walk with Ellie.

We then went into Romney and had lunch at Deblyns Tea Rooms. We sat in the garden with Ellie. They took our order and then brought Ellie water and dog biscuits out!

They do loose leaf tea in a pot, really nice and we both had a lovely lunch.

We then went for another lovely walk with Ellie along Greatstone Beach.

In the evening we had dinner at the Cinque Port Arms. We ate out in the garden.

By the time we were back at the caravan I think Ellie was exhausted.

We booked a caravan at Romney Marsh and so packed and headed that way. A very leisurely drive so we stopped for lunch at Hythe. We arrived at the caravan, unpacked and took Ellie to her favourite beach.

It is right opposite the caravan park, so ideal. In the evening we went to have dinner at The Warren, a really nice dog friendly pub. The customers were laughing at Ellie the way she lays spread- eagled on the floor!

We walked Ellie and then I took the car to be valeted after having all the filthy decking and bags of sand in it.

We watched the football in the afternoon. A draw for Spurs in the north London derby!

The sunflowers in the garden are now huge and one has eighteen flowers on it!
