We had a lovely day out at The Southern Golden Retriever Society Fun day. It wasn’t the best weather but the dogs wouldn’t have liked it too hot anyway and mostly the rain kept away. Ellie (and me) was in her element and they were such lovely people. Everyone was so friendly and no badly behaved dogs , except one and that was a Dalmation! We even won two prizes on the raffle.
We remembered that when we brought Ellie to the UK, we booked a taxi to bring us from the airport in Paris to Kent as we didn’t have a car to travel through Eurotunnel with. The driver was Stuart and I remember him saying that his wife was in the Southern Goldie display team. Chatting to different people we realised he was the one on the mike introducing things and keeping the whole show running. We went to see him and he told us sadly his wife passed away a few years ago. It was lovely to see him again. So many goldies.
At the end of the day the display team came on and they were so good.
We hadn’t been home long when Jasmine (Ellie’s number one fan) came round to bring us an invitation for the street party on Friday. She stayed and played with Ellie!
