We walked Ellie around the orchards in Wingham. They have already harvested in a couple of the orchards but a lot more to go and looking like another bumper harvest. It does sadden me the amount of fruit that is just left on the ground to rot just because it isn’t the right size or shape. Of course Ellie and I shared  a couple of windfalls, she loves apples. We also collected some damsons which it seems no one bothers with. We really should seriously think about making cider one year.

We stopped at the allotment on the way home, more damsons, apples, potatoes and other vegetables.

It was dull in the afternoon and we spent some time adding books to my kindle. I have just finished Small Great Things which I enjoyed. They call it the present day To Kill a Mocking Bird. I struggle to find good books recently. My problem is that I never give up on books, always thinking they will get better. That rarely happens! There doesn’t seem much on TV either but we did watch the first episode of ‘Strike – The Cuckoo’s Calling’, that seems as though it may be promising. We tend to accumulate episodes and wait for reviews. So many times we have watched a series, thinking it will improve and it doesn’t and then believe we have wasted 6 hours of our lives!
